Day 1: Makassar – Arrival
On arrival at the Airport, meeting service and transfer to Makassar, the capital of South Sulawesi. After check-in to the hotel, free program or you may want to enjoy the slow pace of the city. Pantai Losari, over a mile long seafront boulevard frequented by the locals to watch the sunset and why not having your dinner at a local seafood restaurant?
Day 2: Makassar – Gowa – Bira Beach (serving Breakfast & Dinner)
Breakfast at the hotel then leaves for Bira Beach passing Sungguminasa, the seat of the former kingdom of Gowa. On the way to Bira visit Tanaberu, the center as for centuries in the past of South Sulawesi’s traditional boat-building industry. Afternoon arrival at Bira Beach, direct check-in to your beach-cottage accommodation for overnight. Lunch on the trip, dinner, and overnight at Bira Beach.
Day 3: Bira Beach – Sinjai – Lake Tempe, Sengkang ( serving Breakfast & Dinner)
After enjoying breakfast, depart to Sengkang via Sinjai. Arrived at Sengkang in the afternoon, we shall try to catch the beautiful view of the sunset by taking a boat ride at Lake Tempe (subject to weather condition). The floating fisherman’s village in the middle of this vast shallow lake is quite interesting to visit, dinner and overnight at the modest local hotel at Sengkang.
Day 4: Sengkang – Palopo – Tana Toraja (serving Breakfast & Dinner)
After having some breakfast from the hotel, visit a traditional silk weaving home industry before leaving for Toraja via Palopo, an important fishing port at the Bay of Bone. After lunch at Palopo the two hours drive to Rantepao through rolling hills and winding road offers superb views. As the first encounter with Toraja, you will visit Nanggala, a traditional village with 14 big rice barns in front of two Toraja houses of the former king of Nanggala. Lunch on the trip, dinner, and overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Toraja Excursion (serving Breakfast & Dinner)
Breakfast at the hotel and excursion will be exploring highlights of the region. The visit will include a cliff grave at Lemo, the ancient cave graves at Londa. Kete Kesu, a traditional village famous for its woodcarving and paintings, and the market of Rantepao with handicraft and souvenir shops is an interesting place to visit. Lunch at local restaurant, dinner, and overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Toraja Excursion and Nature Walk (serving Breakfast & Dinner)
After breakfast, drive to Pallawa an excellent village to see beautiful “Tongkonan” or Toraja house. Afterward, drive up to Batutumonga. At an altitude of 1300 meters, it offers superb views over Rantepao and the surrounding valleys. The nature walk will take two to three hours walking exploring the off-tourist path through small village compounds, with plantations of coffee, vanilla, clove, bamboo trees, and walk through the rice field. It is truly a beautiful descent to Tikala, where the car is waiting to transport you back to the hotel. Lunch at local restaurant, dinner and overnight hotel.
Day 7: Tana Toraja – Makassar / Airport (serving Breakfast)
After enjoying breakfast, return to Makassar with a refreshment stop at Bambapuang, where you can have a good view of “the erotic mountain”. Lunch at will be provided Pare-Pare then direct transfer to Airport for your afternoon flight to next destination.
